It’s hard to believe it’s already been a month since launching this platform. What started as a simple idea in November 2020 to share my creativity has become something so much bigger: a space where artists’ stories and visions come alive. When I hit the publish button last month, I felt an overwhelming sense of calmness because I was genuinely having fun.

Seeing the response, connecting with talented creators, and hearing from many of you has reminded me why I started this journey in the first place. I wanted to give myself and others a place to be seen, celebrated, and inspired. I want to take this time to once again thank Cleo, Kayla, and Teaerrr for agreeing to be highlighted in my Artist Spotlight series. Learning about each of your journeys has been so insightful, and has warmed my heart immensely.

I also really wanted to see what I could create when the world wasn't watching and I wasn't pressuring myself to "perform". Taking that step back helped me release the need to control my public perception and the narratives people usually associate with me. What do you do when the world isn't watching?

This month, I heard Jack White's quote "Great things start in little rooms.” in Andre 3000's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction speech. The words really stuck with me as a reminder of where creativity begins. We all have to start small, but how we nurture our passion and our gifts over time is what sets us apart. I only want to continue to nurture this passion project as a way of putting myself out there, and I hope you continue to nurture whatever lights your fire.

This November also holds special meaning for me as I honor my dad, "Black Joe", whose creativity and spirit continue to guide me. Here’s to the artists, the art, and the heart behind it all.
