I did this piece as commission work for a friend. They were gifting their close friend, and thought a painting of the two of them when they played football together would be a great gift. I agreed. Overall, I spent the most time on the shading of the hands and jerseys of the players. I decided to not paint in the facial features as I thought it would provide a cooler look, mainly to emphasize the theme of teamwork.
